Chose to eat here after our wedding with a group of 13. The restaurant staff was great, made sure we were all taken care the entire time we were there (2hrs or so). The food was delicious, in our group we had everything from burgers to steak to seafood. For being such a large group it was served quickly. Desert was also a hit for everyone. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Lastly, the atmosphere was great. Very old building and designed to show that off.
My wife and I have eaten and stayed at the Lafayette on a few occasions, just to get away as well as for events in the area. The owners and staff are very personable and this creates a relaxing atmosphere. We had a chefs dinner once a couple years ago and will probably travel back here, just to stay at the Lafayette for dinner/vacation.
Wonderful food in a great old world atmosphere. Service is slightly slow which is good for conversation. We got a bit of "tired butt" due to slow service.
Have had multiple opportunities to dine here. Food is outstanding every time and the chef is knowledgeable about gluten free options. Have had family stay here when visiting and they have been happy with the accommodations provided.
Best french toast on the planet. Seriously. The presentation and atmosphere are equally fancy and welcoming. Also, the ice cream is excellent and it comes in a wine glass, so that's nice. Service can be inconsistent, though, because it seems like there's only one waitress during Sunday brunch, which is not very smart. But I'll always come back for that french toast.
